M100 Overview

The M100 Display terminal is designed to provide a simple, reliable and a most economical solution for two-way messaging applications, depending on an external 3rd party AVL box.
 
The M100 is a low cost Display terminal for Telematics solutions, fully controlled by the AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) black-box device, through a serial RS232 port. The Black-box device serves as a Host that runs the applications and controls the M100 Display terminal. The M100 communication protocol that is provided by Micronet can also be customized to specific black-box requirements.

The M100 Display terminal is supplied with preloaded software command functions, enabling bi-directional data input and output between the terminal and the black-box. As a Host, the black-box can also control electrical Display terminal features, like Backlight, Buzzer, LED's, etc.

The M100 Display terminal is offered in the following pre-set software configurations, to minimize development efforts and shorten time to market:
  • MIP - Micronet Interface Protocol - allows for quick integration, without having to write code on the M100 device itself.
  • MMA - Micronet Messaging Application - out-of-the-box, configurable, client-side two-way messaging application software. For further details on the MMA see the M-Series Messaging App.
